WARNING: This is a common time of year for us to put way too much pressure on ourselves to set new goals to suddenly become the incredible people we've always wanted to be, while looking at the prior year and how much we didn't do, or how bad it was. It's no wonder that usually, by the third week of January when Blue Monday rolls in, we have broken our New Year's resolutions and feel depressed, falling back into the old patterns that we never really broke in the first place.
3 EMPOWERING STEPS TO MANIFESTING YOUR GOALS!
1. FORGET about New Year's Resolutions and celebrate who you are right now, and what you accomplished last year. One thing I'm proud of that I completed was my first music video. I've put that off for many years in order to help others reach their goals. Make a list of as many things as you can as you shift into 2019, and you might be surprised at how much you accomplished and how good it feels to just take a moment. This will get your nervous system wired to feel good and create more of that good!
2. From there, you can think about and and write your values - what is really important to you and why? Make sure these values have a direct connection to your HEART, not just your mind.
3. If you choose to set a goal, make it a S.M.A.R.T. goal, and it will be in alignment with what is truly important to you. Not what you think you ought to do or have to do. That's never fun.
How NOT to write a Goal:
Below I have listed two examples of goals. One is weak and the other is strong.
"I have to record an album because it's time to get my music out there."
"I value sharing my creative expression and I'm excited to record my album this year because it's in alignment with what is important to me."
Which one sounds more light, fun, do-able?
If you feel like you "have to " do something, then it's less likely it will get done because it is vibrationally more heavy. If you focus on the reason why, and that reason is connected to your heart you are more likely to do it and stay committed to it because it feels good and it's in alignment with you.
